Coppter Water Technologies Ltd., founded in April 2022, is an Israeli start-up leveraging innovative Cu+ (monovalent copper ion) technology for eco-friendly water disinfection. Developed by Dr. Magal and Dr. Oshra Saphier from Sami Shamoon College of Engineering, Coppter offers a copper-based solution to replace chlorine, addressing its safety, health, and environmental drawbacks.

Coppter targets swimming pools, jacuzzies, and large-scale water and wastewater treatment, with plans to expand into aquaculture and hydroponic agriculture. The technology is not only safer but also cost-effective, cutting energy use compared to alternatives like UV and ozonation.
